Learn and Research Family History with Online Tutorials was our group talk in February 2019. Many thanks to Sue for stepping in a short notice to lead this discussion.
With Genealogy (Family History) there comes a time when you need to find the best way forward to research your ancestor’s history or overcome that ‘Brick Wall’ which is stopping you from moving forward and one of the best ways is to view the available online tutorials, Webinars and Podcasts, which are there to help you.
Most of the major Family History websites are offering free online tutorials making it easier to find what you need if you log into the following:
www.ukbmd.org/tutorial/
www.youtube.com/results?search_query=findmypast+tutorial. click on'find my past'
Then, if you are really interested to take your studies further, why not consider a Futurelearn MOOC (Massive Open Online Courses) like the one on Genealogy at the University of Strathclyde. This course is primarily designed for people at the beginner to intermediate level. You can join the free course or upgrade, pay £72 and study for a Certificate of Achievement.
So, why not look online at ‘‘Who the course is for?’ and ‘What you can achieve?’ https://www.futurelearn.com/courses/genealogy
