Family History Resources At Your Library

The Public library service in the UK is a free service, you can freely use the resources they have to offer for family history research. Surrey libraries have free access to the following:
  • Ancestry Library Edition,
  • Findmypast,
  • British Newspaper Archive (though this is also available on Findmypast),
  • Who Do You Think You Are magazine, plus other digital copies of your favourite magazines,
  • British Library 19th century Newspapers,
  • Times Digital Archive,
  • Oxford Dictionary of National Biography,
  • Who's Who and Who was Who.
To access these material you have to sign in to Surrey Libraries website https://arena.surreylibraries.org/web/arena using your Card Number or Arena Username and password.

If you wish to access the magazines such as "Who Do You Think You Are" then you can go directly to magazine collection via http://surrey.rbdigitalglobal.com/
  • Visit RBdigital to browse the collection, find out more information and access the online help.
  • You can borrow up to 10 titles for up to 3 weeks (21 days).
  • You have to register before using this service. Select the Register link in the upper right hand side of the screen.
  • You will need your library card to register.
  • Download the app - desktop and mobile versions available.
  • There is a small collection of eBooks also available through this service.
  • You can also use your username and password to borrow online magazines.
